Welcome To My Home Page

My Name is Peter and I lived in Sandwell in the West Midlands i now live in blackpool. Sandwell as alot of famus people Frank Scinner Julie Walters. they are all honured in a town call Oldbury and there names are on a slab out side the Civic Centre.

Sandwell is also the home of West Bromwich Albion Football Club and some of the players even come from Sandwell Calton Parmer lived in Rowley Regis he as gone on to new teams now.

I have been a radio amature for meny years and have enjoyed all aspects of the hobby, from HF to UHF.

Slow Scan TV and Packet Radio and Satelites, yes even hams have sats they are one of the more indepth side to the hobby but just as good as the rest.

since moving up to Blackpool i have found that there are alot of hams over here, i often go to the beach with my hand held and talk to hams all over.

Family

My Brother Graham M1FFG and my Mother Freda M3FXU whom is now  silent key (this means she as passed away) are all hams. My daughter Shannan is  already trying to get the mic off us and call for her Nan as she knows her by the voice over the radio. It is very nice when all of the family can enjoy a hobby together and not all at the same time or in the same place, over the years as a ham i have made alot of friends not only in this country but all over the world i have a special friend in Germany in a town called Celle and we often communicate via packet radio, packet radio is like email but over the radio.

My pic's

Some pic's of the group but we are still sorting them out.

The picture is of the lads putting up antennas at The Horse And Jockey pub for a special event station.

Raynet

I was also a member of Sandwell Raynet. Raynet stands for Radio Amateurs Emergency Network  and has been going for over 50 years.

It was set up as a direct result of the East Coast Flooding in 1953 were radio amateurs were the first on the seen and helped the police and other user services.

Since then it has grown to around 8,000 members and into a very active organisation.

We have our own Raynet Group in Sandwell we have around 14 members from all ages and allwalks of life, we also put on radio courses in conjunction with West Bromwich Radio Club, were candidats can see both sides of the hobby, you can go on to the web site and see how to get involved www.sandwell-raynet.co.uk

We are a good bunch of lads and have alot of fun in what we do, but when needed we are there to help out in what ever is needed to be done.

Looks a nice day for radio
